Current Openings

Summer Camp 2026 Teacher
Schedule: Session 1 (June 1 - 26) and Session 2 (July 6 - 31)
Reports to: Lead Teacher/Licensing Administrator
Chilkat Valley Preschool is seeking enthusiastic teachers to help support children enrolled in our nature based summer program. Contact CVP and come observe the preschool program currently in session to learn more!
Responsibilities:

Support the Lead Teacher or Assistant Teacher(s)
Engage warmly with children through play, storytelling, outdoor exploration, and practical life activities
Supervise children indoors and outdoors to ensure safety and well-being
Follow behavioral expectations and school policies
Assist with simple cleanup tasks and preparation of materials
Communicate any concerns or incidents to the Lead Teacher/Licensing Administrator
Qualifications:
Experience working with young children (formal or informal)
Reliability, warmth, and a patient demeanor
Ability to follow established routines and guidance
Must pass a background check and meet state childcare licensing requirements
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to complete upon hire)
Compensation: Hourly rate based on experience.

Preschool Teacher (School Year 2026-27)
Schedule: School year 2026-27 (Full time/Part Time)
Reports to: CVP Board President
Chilkat Valley Preschool is seeking warm, reliable teachers to support our early childhood classroom. Our program is play-based, and nature-rich. Teachers help maintain a nurturing, predictable environment for children ages 3–5.
Responsibilities:
Create or support the daily classroom rhythm (depending on role)
Engage warmly with children through play, storytelling, outdoor exploration, and practical life activities
Maintain a calm, predictable presence during transitions, snack time, and free play
Supervise children indoors and outdoors to ensure safety and well-being
Follow classroom routines, behavioral expectations, and school policies
Assist with simple cleanup tasks and preparation of materials
Communicate any concerns or incidents to the Board President (depending on role)

Schedule: As needed
Reports to: Lead Teacher/Licensing Administrator
Chilkat Valley Preschool is seeking warm, reliable substitute teachers to support our early childhood classroom when staff are absent. Our program is play-based, nature-rich, and inspired by Waldorf rhythms. Substitutes help maintain a nurturing, predictable environment for children ages 3–5.
Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Teacher or Assistant Teacher in guiding the daily classroom rhythm
Engage warmly with children through play, storytelling, outdoor exploration, and practical life activities
