Preschool Program Leaders

Ashley Grewe

With over 16 years of experience working with children, Ashley is passionate about nurturing the whole child through play, time in nature, creativity, rhythm, and meaningful relationships. She has worked in both public and alternative education settings, including co-founding two Waldorf-inspired, nature-based schools in Oregon, where she developed curriculum, guided teaching teams, and fostered strong partnerships with families.

Drawing from Waldorf pedagogy, mindfulness practices, and art-centered learning, Ashley creates creative, nurturing environments rooted in rhythm, seasonal flow, and hands-on connection to place. Her approach emphasizes emotional safety, imaginative engagement, and a deep respect for each child's unique development.

As a mother of two young children, she has gained additional insight and sensitivity to the nuances of early childhood, bringing a joyful, grounded presence to every setting. Ashley is committed to fostering vibrant, cohesive school communities that inspire wonder and lifelong learning.

She is excited to contribute her passion, creativity, and experience to the team at Chilkat Valley Preschool and looks forward to supporting children’s joyful growth and discovery.
